The Family Upstairs – Book Review
Blurb
Just after her 25th birthday, Libby Jones returns home to find a letter she’s been expecting her whole life. It explains not only the identity of her birth parents, but also that she has inherited the abandoned mansion, in the wealthy Chelsea area of London. Everything she once knew of her life is all about to change. What she isn’t aware of though, is the others have been waiting for this day too. She is about to meet them. 25 Years ago, the police were sent to the mansion, with reports of a baby crying. When they arrived, they found 3 dead bodies and a healthy 10-month old baby, alone in her crib. The 4 other children who were reported to be living there too, were gone. This story is a story of 3 entangled families living serrate lives, all living with the same dark secrets that bring them together.
My Thoughts
Wow. I don’t know how many times I gasped during reading this. The twists! Nothing is what you think it is in this story. I literally started this book Friday evening, finished it Sunday morning. I could not put it down, it literally took over my weekend but I had so much I needed to find out, so many questions. I wanted to know how the 3 different point of views all came together. I was confused at first, but the more I read, the clearer it all became. I caught myself saying ‘what?!’ and ‘No way!’ quite a lot.

Conclusion
This has opened by my love story with Lisa Jewell, and I will 100% be reading all the other books she has released. I only just discovered that there is a second book to this one, i thought it was a 4 star read. If you love thrillers that reveal more and more character development and storyline as you read, you will love this one as much as I did. You can buy The Family Remains (book 2) here.
