Reminders Of Him – Book Review

Blurb

After serving five years in prison for a tragic mistake, Kenna Rowan returns to the town where it all went wrong, hoping to reunite with her four-year-old-daughter. But the bridges Kenna burned are proving impossible to rebuild. Everyone in her daughters life is determined to shut Kenna out, no matter how hard she works to prove herself.

The only person who hasn’t closed the door on her completely is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner and one of the few remaining links to Kenna’s daughter. But if anyone were to discover how ledger is slowly becoming an important part of Kenna’s life, both would risk losing the trust of everyone important to them.

The two form a connection despite the pressure surrounding them, but as their romance grows, so does the risk. Kenna must find a way to absolve the mistakes of her past in order to build a future out of hope and healing.

My Thoughts

Reminders of him is by far one of the most emotional Colleen Hoover books ive read so far! I was all over the place with this one. Its heartbreaking at times, and I really feel for Kenna whenever it’s in her point of view. The connection between Kenna and Ledger is so natural and I love how real and relatable it is, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows and I think that’s great because unfortunately that’s life, romance isn’t what it cracks up to be in these books so it’s good to read a book that shows that sometimes. The hardest situations in life can bring people together and I think that’s beautiful.

I say this about most of these books but i really did connect with the characters and the story line in this one. It’s so beautifully written. It may have romance in it but its certainly more of a life love story, watching a mum suffer the way Kenna does is so real and raw.

Author

Colleen Hoover (born December 11, 1979) is an American author who primarily writes novels in the romance and young adult fiction genres. She is best known for her 2016 romance novel It Ends with Us. Many of her works were self-published before being picked up by a publishing house.

Conclusion

HIGHLY recommend reading this one, it will completely zone you out of your life for a while as you live through Kenna. I didn’t have any expectations with this one as its very underrated so i didn’t really know what to expect. I was completely blown away about a chapter or so in. I had no idea how emotional it was going to be either. Be careful though it does pack a punch! So be prepared to cry a little.
