To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Author – Jenny Han

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes before to anyone, but instead she wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister’s ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

Readers thoughts on this…

“Why can’t all books be like this. Seriously.”

“I really liked a lot of aspects of this novel, family and cutesy romance being the main two. I also hadn’t read a light contemporary in a while so it was pretty nice to read something where you don’t have to worry about spaceships crashing and killing everyone on planet earth for once.
I think the story was written really well, it was fun and light, and the characters were FANTASTIC!”

Small Town Rumours

Author – Carolyn Brown

Everyone is talking about Jennie Sue Baker and the mess she made of her life in New York. The former high school queen bee—and wealthy darling of Bloom, Texas—has returned home after all these years, riding on a common bus and bearing two bounced alimony checks. In a town that thrives on gossip, Jennie’s fall from grace has shamed her mother, set the town buzzing, and caused old, jealous enemies to whisper in delight. They say she’s taken a job as a housekeeper, gotten a garage apartment, and might be crushing on Rick Lawson, a simple farmer with modest dreams.

As romance starts to bud, Jennie relishes what it means to follow her heart, find real new friends, and finally be herself—regardless of all the lying town chatter. But fate has another twist in store. Rumor has it that Jennie now stands to lose what matters most…unless she can convince Rick of one true thing—and that’s love.

Readers thoughts on this…

“Five stars: A wonderful book filled with love, family, small towns and new beginnings. This book made me laugh and cry. Loved it!”

“Small Town Rumors is like many of Carolyn Browns books, I love when she writes about people in small towns it’s something she does very well. I really liked Jennie Sue and how she stood up to her mother and finally starts to live her own life. I really do love how over the top the characters were in this story, it made me laugh.”

Good Luck Charm

Author – Helena Hunting

Lilah isn’t sure what hurt worse: the day Ethan left her to focus on his hockey career, or the day he came back eight years later. He might think they can pick up just where they left off, but she’s no longer that same girl and never wants to be again.

Ethan Kane wants his glory days back. And that includes having Lilah by his side. With her, he was magic. They were magic. All he has to do is make her see that.

Just when Lilah might finally be ready to let him in, though, she finds out their reunion has nothing to do with her and everything to do with his game. But Ethan’s already lost her once, and even if it costs him his career, he’ll do anything to keep from losing her again.

Readers thoughts on this…

“I loved this story. Good Luck Charm is a sweet, and heart warming second chance romance that will give you all the feels.”

“I love sports/hockey romance and I love second chance romance. Helena Hunting did a fantastic job bringing both of these romances into The Good Luck Charm! I loved that this one had the perfect mix of emotion and humor.”

Love Online

Author – Penolope Ward

We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod” and she was “Montana,” but of course, those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind.

Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape—my sanctuary.

Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out.

From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed.

She was an addiction.

At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities…and she was adamant that we keep things that way. Anonymity had no effect on our unstoppable chemistry, though. If anything, it allowed us to open up even more in ways we may not have otherwise.

Eden was funny, intelligent, gorgeous—everything I’d ever wanted in a woman.

But I couldn’t really have her.

I had accepted things would have to stay the way they were—until the day I found a clue that led me straight to her.

So I took a chance.

And that was when our love story really began.

Readers thoughts on this…

“I loved it! Super sexy…maybe her sexiest yet! I can’t wait for everyone to read Love Online!”

“I was always wondering how Penelope Ward comes up with her story lines!Love Online was refreshing, heartwarming and super hot! This book makes me have butterflies and makes me aching and swooning most Of the time!”

Down With Love

Author – Kate Meader

If you ever get married, remember my name: Max Henderson. In my line of work, you acquire a certain perspective on supposedly everlasting unions. . . .

1. Pre-nups are your friend.
2. The person you married is not the person you’re divorcing.
3. And I hope you didn’t spend much on the wedding because that was one helluva waste of hard-earned cash, wasn’t it?

But some guys are willing to take a chance. Like my brother, who thinks he’s going to ride off into the sunset with the woman of his dreams in a haze of glitter on unicorns. And the wedding planner—the green-eyed beauty who makes a living convincing suckers to shell out thousands of dollars on centerpieces—is raking it in on this matrimonial monstrosity.

The thing is, Charlie Love is not unlike me. We’re both cogs in the wedding-industrial complex. As the best man, I know her game—and I can play it better than her. But after one scorching, unexpected kiss, I’m thinking I might just want to get played.

Readers thoughts on this…

“I have read many many books by Kate Meader. I just love her writing style!! Her books are always full of humor and fun loving stories that you can really relate to. So I always gravitate to new titles by her.”

“Witty, seductive, and wickedly entertaining!”

The Chase

Author – Elle Kennedy

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.

And that his best friend has a crush on me.

And that I just moved in with them.

Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing?

He knows where to find me.

Readers thoughts on this…

“Elle Kennedy and her steamy hockey romances are back. And, like, what a damn blessing. This is the happiest I’ve been reading a book all damn year. These new characters completely won me over. All the cameos from the people we already love were perfection. The banter and jokes literally had my sides hurting from giggling. And, this book actually had some really important topics like ADHD and how learning disabilities can impact you in college, how growing up in the middle of abusive parents can have detrimental effects, how judging people based off their looks is really gross, and how you should always go with your gut feeling, especially when it comes to creepy men in a position of power.”

“Opposites attract in this brand new spin-off series and I frickin’ loved it! See what I did there? Alright, that was entirely too cheesy but I simply couldn’t resist.”

The Deal

Author – Elle Kennedy

She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cockycaptain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Readers thoughts on this…

“This was my first Elle Kennedy and I really enjoyed it. The writing was good and there was enough drama for me without it being too angsty.”

“Well, I can say I regret being so late to the party on this one. I had a friend recommend this to me when she read it back in February and every few weeks I would get a message from her asking if I’d read it yet (thanks for pushing, Jen!) I can’t say why I waited to read this, I just got busy with other books. One things for sure though, I’ll be reading book 2 in this series very soon! No more waiting for me.”

Confess

Author – Colleen Hoover

Auburn Reed is determined to rebuild her shattered life and she has no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to become deeply attracted to the studio’s enigmatic artist, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a chance and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is hiding a huge secret. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything Auburn loves most, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it—but can she do it?

Readers thoughts on this…

“Okay, this is hands-down the best Colleen Hoover book I have ever read, and I can’t stop crying!”

“Exquisitely heart-wrenching and absolutely unputdownable, Confess is another unique Colleen Hoover masterpiece and one of the must-read books of this year!!”

fu*k Love

Author – Tarryn Fisher

Helena Conway has fallen in love.
Unwillingly. Unwittingly.
But not unprovoked.
Kit Isley is everything she’s not—unstructured, untethered,
and not even a little bit careful.
It could all be so beautiful … if he wasn’t dating her best friend.
Helena must defy her heart, do the right thing, and think of others.
Until she doesn’t.

Readers thoughts on this…

“Tarryn Fisher surpasses my expectations with this novel. Helena Conway is shown a glimpse of what her life would be like being married and loved by her best friend’s boyfriend.”

“There were things about this story that I absolutely loved. I can’t deny that I was inexplicably drawn to this story.”

Tethered

Author – L.D. Davis

“You were born to be mine and I was born to be yours.” Donya Stewart’s chest filled with the soft beating wings of butterflies when she first met Emmet Grayne’s green eyes at the ripe age of five. Unable to identify the tugging pressure within her when in his presence, Donya moved through the first several years of her life addled by her feelings for the boy who was her best friend’s brother, and very much like her own sibling. But one cool autumn night in her mystifying teenage years, Emmet erases any ideas Donya has of him being anything like a sibling. Donya and Emmet, unable to deny the invisible cord that fetters them together on an incredibly visceral level, begin a long journey on a road abounding with challenges, hurdles, and destructive forces. Their love for one another is absolute, and the emotional link between them is strong, but when they make a series of painful decisions and mistakes that pull them apart, the strength of that tether is challenged. “The tether contorted and quivered and groaned in protest.” If you are in search of an angst-filled romance novel, get tied into Tethered…

Readers thoughts on this…

“6 “Unbreakable” stars! This book is THE reason I love to read romance!”

“This book. Omg this book. It had me literally everywhere. I loved the deep unique love these two shared.”

    Thanks for this great list!

I haven’t actually heard of most of the books on this list. I’m not huge on romance books, sorry! Thought I would be honest with you 🙂 I much prefer fantasy.

What do you think is the right way to convince someone like me to read these kind of books? Is there a particular book on this list that you would recommend for the ‘uninitiated’?

I have actually heard of ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’; isn’t it a Netflix series now? Did the book come first?

    • Jayde

Hi! Thank you for your comments, yes the books for ‘To All The Boys I Loved Before’ came out before the movie, theres 3 books in the series, and just the one movie as of yet.

Thank you for your preference I will do a top 10 fantasy list shortly!

As to regards to getting people to read these books, its completely up to you what you read, my website has a very big variety of books to explore.

      🙂

  • Brian

I’ve been wanting to branch out into genres of books so to speak instead of just reading sci-fi books and some of my friends really enjoy reading romance novels. While I do like watching romance movies sometimes, I’ve never really read any romance books and your descriptions of these 10 Romance Books has me enticed! I really like the description of “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “Small Town Rumors”! I live in a small town so a romance book such as that one would be perfect and shows that love can still be found even in a small town!

Out of the list of those 10 Romance novels, which ones are your favorites? Are there any Romance Titles not listed there but would probably be worthy of mention?

    • admin

      hi! Thank you

Yeah I would say ‘To All The Boys Ive Loved Before’ is my favourite because Ive read that whole series, I loved it. I also live in a small town so I was drawn to ‘Small Town Rumours.

I’m not a romantic person, but a good friend of me is and soon it it Christmas.

I didn’t knew yet what to buy until I came across this post.

Thank you very much because one of these books will be her present, and I’m confident she will like it.

I’m so happy that you shared it!

  • victor lavaza

Many thanks for sharing this list. All these stories are captivating if your review is anything to go by. I am spoilt for choice, literally. Since I can’t read all of them at once, I want to grab Hellena Hunting’s ‘Good Luck Charm’ for starters and then I can get the rest one by one.

    Best regards

  • Rutz

I have been a fun of romance articles but not books per say.  I really love reading about romantic stuff on the internet and may be I should begin checking out your recommended books.  Do you have any recommended books on maintaining romance in marriage and keeping the sparkle going brighter by the day?

  • Taetske

    Good Morning Jayde,

I have visited your website before as I find interesting books here.

Now Christmas is coming closer and as I love to give books as a present I come to have a look at what is new. The younger generation also loves to read so I am happy to find some books which they might like.

I have chosen 3 of your list which might be perfect gifts.

The plot of all the boys I have loved before: I think that is rather original.

Small town rumors: Towns like descibed in this book excist all over the world, sad but true.

Love Online: That one appeals to me as by experience I can tell you it can function.

Thank you for these reviews it makes my shopping a lot easier.

    Regards, Taetske

  • Lok Which

To be honest, I’m in love with your selection of books, there’s a way it tallies with my interest. I’ve read confess and tethered and I must confess they’re really interesting to get on with.

I’ll add fuck love and down with love to my to read list and I hope I’ll also have sweet experience with them. Thanks

  • Chris

My girlfriend is big on reading, especially when we take trips away and holidays – which we are doing for this Christmas!

She likes the romance angle, whilst I like the slightly more ‘darker’ element in my novels, I’ll have to show her this article. For some reason I am leaning toward the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before choice – it sounds familiar to me, has it been made into a film?

  • Snap Brisk
