Readers thoughts on this…

“Woah, I loved this book. There are so many times where I went to the bookstore and almost picked it up, but decided against it. I wish I would of picked it up sooner.”

Readers thoughts on this…

“I love this book. Just absolutely love it. This was another book I read in high school and I devoured the series like crazy. Lucky for me, I don’t remember must about it so it was like reading it for the first time. I stayed up far too late reading this book and paid the price for it quite a few evenings.”

“I loved this book for what it is: a reminder of my childhood and a beautiful story about accepting yourself for who you are.”

Faults In Our Stars

Author – John Green

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Readers thoughts on this…

“Honestly, was afraid to read this book for a while for fear of it letting me down after almost EVERYONE built it up. I didn’t want to be disappointed and have to give it a bad review. However, that didn’t happen. I loved this book and would definitely read Hazel and Augustus’s story all over again.”

“This is the book that changed me (for better), and because of that, I will always love it with all of my bookish heart. Infinite stars.”

Just Listen

Author – Sarah Dessen

Last year, Annabel was “the girl who has everything” — at least that’s the part she played in the television commercial for Kopf’s Department Store.

This year, she’s the girl who has nothing: no best friend because mean-but-exciting Sophie dropped her, no peace at home since her older sister became anorexic, and no one to sit with at lunch. Until she meets Owen Armstrong.

Tall, dark, and music-obsessed, Owen is a reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling. With Owen’s help, maybe Annabel can face what happened the night she and Sophie stopped being friends.

Readers thoughts on this…

“I really, really liked this book.
I definitely feel for Annabel and her family… I loved how big a part music had in this story as well as friendship. This book shows the importance of family and friends, speaking up for yourself, and of course listening to those around you. This was my first Sarah Dessen book and I’d definitely love to read another!”

“This book is so well written and emotional. I quickly became invested in not just Annabel but her whole family has well. Just Listen deals with many difficult issues and I felt like everything was handled in a very powerful way.”

Author – Lauren Kate

What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?

17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

Get ready to fall . . .

Readers thoughts on this…

“I found it entertaining and I enjoyed reading it. I loved the dark vibe it had about it. There was always a tension between the characters, like no one trusted anyone and that made it immensely interesting. I couldn’t put the book down, it is captivating, say whatever you want, but it’s a very easy read.”

“Surprisingly really enjoyed this.”

Eleanor & Park

Author – Rainbow Rowell

Two misfits.

One extraordinary love.

Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.

Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

Readers thoughts on this…

“I did not expect to love this book as much as I did… I was hooked from the very beginning! Such a heart wrenching story…just wow.”

“A really sweet and sad book. The characters were likeable and realistic, and the ending was so hopeful but sad and was done really well. Would definitely recommend!”

13 Reasons Why

Author – Jay Asher

You can’t stop the future.
You can’t rewind the past.
The only way to learn the secret . . . is to press play.

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker–his classmate and crush–who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah’s voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he’ll find out why.

Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah’s pain, and as he follows Hannah’s recorded words throughout his town, what he discovers changes his life forever.

Readers thoughts on this…

“This book will change your life. Absolutely amazing!”

“This is also the perfect book to listen to on audiotape. usually i am annoyed with audiobooks, but i enjoyed listening to this one almost as much as reading it, because i was hearing hannah while driving in my car, much the same way clay was. still love this book and it’s boldness.”

If I stay

Author – Gayle Forman

Just listen, Adam says with a voice that sounds like shrapnel.

I open my eyes wide now.
I sit up as much as I can.
And I listen.

Stay, he says.

Choices. Seventeen-year-old Mia is faced with some tough ones: Stay true to her first love—music—even if it means losing her boyfriend and leaving her family and friends behind?

Then one February morning Mia goes for a drive with her family, and in an instant, everything changes. Suddenly, all the choices are gone, except one. And it’s the only one that matters.

If I Stay is a heartachingly beautiful book about the power of love, the true meaning of family, and the choices we all make.

Readers thoughts on this…

“I FINALLY READ IT!!!! It took TOO LONG, because I wasn’t feeling like reading it. I knew it is great, but I started The Raven Circle which totally disoriented me. I recommend reading the book before the movie. It was really, really good book and, I will be reading the sequel soon!”

“Such an amazing and emotional book. It had me laughing to tears in a matter of minutes. I was so sad when the book ended because I yearned for more. Some things you just can’t get enough of and “If I Stay” is one of them.

I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good read.”

Paper Towns

Author – John Green

Who is the real Margo?

Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs into his life—dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge—he follows. After their all-nighter ends, and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues—and they’re for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees the girl he thought he knew…

Readers thoughts on this…

“I LOVED the characters. John Green made their identities very clear very quickly, and having such a sense of them so early on was great, coz once you’ve got past that you can kinda start thinking about them a little more deeply.”

“I loved the quirkiness of the characters and of course John Green’s writing was spectacular. I can’t wait to watch the movie!”

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Author – Jenny Han

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer—they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Readers thoughts on this…

“I reread this book today and it’s so sweet and ugh I love it so much.
And my heart aches for Jere, he’s so cute! But then Conrad is too…
I used to hate Conrad when I first read this book (although I did warm up to him as the series progressed) but now he’s just loveable in the first book too idk. I still love Jeremiah, though. But then again I also love Conrad now.
Trust me, I’m confused too.

“This was a perfect Summer read!
I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline! I’m not sure what’s going to happen in the next book because everything sort of wrapped up really nicely at the end of this, but I guess Jenny Han will find something to stir up some more drama.”

Wow, those are a lot of excellent books you listed there for young adults! Some of those would definitely be great gifts for some teens/young adults I know who love to read. I really like the description of Uglies and it would probably end up being one I want to read for myself. I saw that you listed the book 13 Reasons Why. I’ve watched both seasons of the show they created based off of the book on Netflix. The show is really intense and I’m sure the book is just the same way if not more so with probably more details. Which one of these books have been your favorites?

First time I visit your website and I must say I love it!

Love to have a book or two on my night table and love to read a book every night.

It’s always good to find a place where I can find some books to get when I visit a book store or when I’m searching on the internet to buy a book or two, this time your selection for young adults gives anyone who love to read a good book a list where to pick not one for a few of them.

I’m already interested to read “If I Stay” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty”

I will go now to read more articles on your website, I’m sure I will find more good recommendations to buy more books.

  • sanjay

Thanks for making a great list.

I was looking for a book that is worth reading and you have given me quite a few good options. I would like to read all of them as all of them sound interesting but first of all, I would like to read “Fault in our stars”. It seems to be very intriguing.

  • shane mckean

Hi, I found this site very interesting, i am an avid reader usually non-fiction self development-business type books ans find reading a real pleasure. I have three young adult grandchildren and i know only one of them reads regularly, and i am surprised by the fact that she does, as i thought most young people today would not read from a book. This is a lovely site with a great title and useful content that can give young adults a real gift and that is finding good books to help, inspire, and entertain them.

    Thanks Shane

    Hi there,

I was crawling the web to find some good books for my young daughter, she loves reading. She reads so fast that one book won’t be enough for her. I will take some of them, but before that, I would like to know if it’s possible to return them if she doesn’t like the books?  Also, once she has read the books, would it be possible to sell them on Amazon?

Thank you very much for this excellent post!

  • Jayde

hi! yes if she doesn’t like it you can arrange to send it back to amazon and get your money back. Yeah once shes finished you can sell it on amazon, ebay or facebook marketplace.

  • Kabakov Mark

Dear reader and buyer of this list of 10 books from Amazon. Allow me to remind you that everything: choice, curiosity and money is yours. I can only suggest the following after careful study of this post.

    1) It is cheaper to buy on Amazon.

    2) If you are interested in romance with fears, metamorphoses and medical details, choose 6 or 7 books for yourself.

    3) For a more moderate perception of book romance, you can get :

    The Selection

    If I Stay

    The Summer I Turned Pretty

  • AV 2001

Hey Jayde! I’m more into Autobiographies and stuff like that but “Faults In Our Stars” seems like a good read to me. I think I liked is that the genres of all these books are different. Whoever visits this page must go through each one of them carefully so that they get an idea on what’s being offered.

Do you have any adventure books which can be interesting to read? The collection you’ve collected in this page is fascinating though! Keep it up!

  • swangirl

I loved reading the description of books when I was young and picking which ones to get. I read like crazy, every day. I would stay up too late every night since I wanted to see what happened next. I still remember so many of those books.

Fallen sounds very suspenseful and enthralling. The Selection and Eleanor & Park both sound like engaging books for young ladies as well. I can’t wait to start reading again!

  • Vwegba

Hello. Hope you’re having a good time finding us good books? Thank you for sharing these Top Books For Young Adults. I must confess you did an awesome job making this list. One of these would be an excellent gift for my lady friend.

Ps: I was wondering if any of these books will be available as movies. Any?

  • Fiona

So much angst in young adult fiction though I guess that’s reflective of what teens are feeling. I must say though that I do enjoy reading young adult fiction. The Selection and Fallen are probably the two that I would pick for myself.

I’ve seen some of the TV adaptation of 13 Reasons Why and would be curious to read the novel to see how it compares.

  • Sylvia

Reading is a passion of mine, especially during the long Winters in Canada, and I have at least two books lying around. I also do prefer having a book in my hands than reading it from a device.

However, three of your book reviews have caught my eyes, Uglies, 13 Reasons Why and If I Stay.

I certainly will get my hands on them and I also have saved your website for further reference.

    Thank you for sharing!

  • Sujandar Mahesan

I love your website. You always post the best books in all genres. I loved these 10 picks too. I actually loved so many of the books posted on this article but if I had to choose one I would say I like “Just Listen”. From the Synopsis it looks like the book I would love to read.

Thank you once again for these wonderful selections of books

  • Rick

  • Madeleine

Jayde, I wonder have you read all these books? If so, that is quite an accomplishment! I confess, as an almost 60 year old woman who loves to read, I often read young adult books. Maybe it helps to keep me young…. LOL! I’m going to check out your Mystery section now, as that is a passion of mine these days. Keep up the good work Jayde.

  • Jay

This seems like a great list and would be a great read. As a young adult, one of my hobbies is reading and I love reading these type of books. I did notice that movie producers of recent tend to get inspiration from books and they use these inspirations to create movies which is why we see many movies that are based on novels or books.

After reading some of the comments on this post, some of the novels seem to be movies and I would definitely love to see them. But first, I would read the books so I get a better understanding when I am watching it on the screen.

  • Henry

Hi! I’m having a trip in two weeks and I stopped at your post about the Best Fiction Books of 2017, and picked two books I’ll take with me. But reading more of the things on your site, I landed here. And “Just Listen” from Sarah Dessen has caught my attention. I have always recognized the importance of listening, and this seems to click with my personality. I’ll also buy this one to take on my journey. Thanks a lot! I’ll come back to tell you my impressions concerning these three books I have chosen.
