Book Review For You Belong To Me – Baltimore Series 1

Book Review For You Belong To Me

Disturbing – When forensic Pathologist Lucy Trask stumbles across a mutilated body in her local Baltimore park, its face unrecognizable, her sole concern is that it might be her old school teacher Mr Pugh.

Destructive – But the victim is actually another man from her past. Who killed him and why was he left for Lucy to find is unclear but what appears to be a ‘1’ burned into his back proclaims that this corpse won’t be the last.

Deadly – The discovery of a second branded body raises worrying questions: how many more lives are at risk? And can Lucy solve the killer’s gruesome puzzle before his thirst for revenge is complete?

I gave this 5 stars

My Thoughts

This story is so intense, exciting and gripping. Throughout the book I am left dying to know what the connections are between these bodies, the serial killer, and Lucy. What did Lucy do to this serial killer, to deserve all these bodies on her door step? That’s what I wanted to know. I was totally hooked from beginning to end with this.

Why I Enjoyed This Read

It takes a lot for me to stay engrossed in a story this long, but there was no way I wasn’t going to finish this one, I had to know how it ended. The little bit of love snippets we go were also cute enough to keep me reading, as dark as the story was, the little sprinkle of love was so needed and appreciated. Also, I didn’t find this hard to read at all, the bloody bites were a little gruesome but nothing I could’nt handle.

Who Would Enjoy This Read

Anyone who loves a thriller/suspense story, with plenty of detective work and mysteries to solve. Crime thriller lovers, this is perfect for you.

Overall Thoughts

For a big book, the fast pace story line didn’t even give me a chance to notice how long it was. You learn to love all the characters in this story, and I love that we get to read from the serial killers point of view at times, we sort of get an insight into why he’s doing what he’s doing, and what he thinks and feels. Seriously guys, pick this book up, you won’t regret it!! I enjoyed this book very much.

Is this the first book many? I’m a cover book reader myself really, if I like the look of the cover I will read it. If I hadn’t read your review of You Belong to Me I don’t think I would have even picked it up but I love a crime thriller, to be honest, that’s all I really read apart from the occasional Stephen King book.

Can you recommend any other crime thriller books? I am going away on holidays soon and I have to take a few books with me or I will just get bored, lol

For you belong to me seems like it has everything – suspense, excitement, shock and awe.

I might ask the other half to buy me this for Christmas as I have just finished a book like this.

Hi and thanks for the review. I love a good novel that can surprise me while I’m reading it. The quick pace is good for a reader like me as I can lose interest pretty quick unless the book really engages with me. Will there be sequels to this novel?  Thanks for the review. Kenny

Thanks for this review.  I liked your review so much because I love crime thrillers and hadn’t heard of this one. I used your link and bought the Kindle version of the book. I’ll probably start reading it today during my lunch break! This says Baltimore Series 1—will there be others in this series? Is Lucy Trask our protagonist again? I can’t wait to start reading!

I love the suspense stories. Your grade is excellent and for what you explain, your reading is very interesting.

Discover what is the motive that leads the murderer to kill leaving their bodies in very bad condition near Lucy.

It’s those books that you can not stop until you finish your reading.

I will make the purchase immediately. Excellent review!

It’s been quite some time since I’ve read a crime thriller. I think ‘Along Came a Spider’ was the last one I read and enjoyed it very much. Not sure why I moved away from that genre but in any case reading your review of ‘You Belong To Me – Baltimore Series 1’ has sparked new interest so I will definitely add it to my list of  must reads.

    Thanks for the review.

This book sounds right up my street!

I love books that make you think for yourself, rather than just telling you everything. It often leads to a few wrong assumptions, making it even more exiting to see if you were correct or if there is another twist awaiting,

I often lose interest with big books, I guess I just have a short attention span- however this book sounds gripping enough to keep me to the very end.
