Author – Bridget E. Baker
Book Review For Already Gone.
Two sisters, Hope and Lacy, couldn’t be more different even though they are less than a year apart in age. Lacy – captain of the debate team, Hope – captain of the swim team.
All of Lacy’s life Hope has always taken everything Lacy always wanted, from her favorite treats to her sparkly new high heels. But Lacy is determined not to let that happen again, not this time. She focuses on winning the heart of a boy at school and trying her best to get accepted into Yale. These are her priorities, that is until a shocking death changes everything.
Now stuck in a doctors’ office, being forced to relive the months leading up to the tragic death, she wonders if Hope will take her future too.
I gave Already Gone 5 stars.
I think I have found my new favorite author this year. Wow, what can I say, I bloody love Bridget’s writing. This story is truly something special, it shows a love-hate relationship between two very close sisters, a tragic loss you didn’t see coming and an exciting and cute three-way love stories, all in one book! What more could you want?
If I could give this book one fault it would be that it’s just not long enough! I would love more of the couple at the end, I’m a sucker for a longer happy ending when love is involved. This is why I gave this 5 stars, just couldn’t get enough.
Why I Enjoyed This Read
This is a mystery novel with romance and suspense are thrown in. I was so excited all the way through, reading what happens throughout the story because Lacy is writing the whole story out from beginning to end, that’s what I loved the most, it leaves you guessing throughout and you think one thing, but actually, there’s a shocking twist that completely throws you off. We also get to hear from Hope too, so it’s not just the story from one side all the way through, you learn to love and understand both sisters. Although Let’s be real, I did have a favorite.
Who Would Enjoy This Read
If you love a book that leaves you guessing, has you hanging on every word and excited to keep reading then you better get reading, this book has it all. Even a bit of romance, but not the kind of romance that takes over the story and makes you sick in your mouth. This is the kind of book you could read in one weekend, on a beach with a good cold drink in hand.
This book is so much more than just sisters after the same guy, it has so much depth and emotion behind it. I take my hat off to you Bridget. This is such a well-thought-out, beautiful story with a hidden message behind it. Do not go through life with regrets and always looking back, everything happens for a reason. I NEED to read more Bridget Baker books now!
